OK wow, what an awesome New Orleans wedding in the French Quarter this was!!! We started with Alison in her suite at the Windsor Court where her sister helped her get dressed and calmed her nerves. Shortly after her Mother came to the suite for some last minute motherly advice. Once Alison’s mother and sister left, Alison’s father came up to the suite to walk her down to her personal bicycle taxi to Cafe Amelie in the French Quarter where Graham was waiting for her. When Alison opened the door to greet her father, he let loose and started crying almost immediately when he saw how gorgeousness she looked in her dress.
Once we all arrived at Cafe Amelie, Graham came out from to see his bride for the first time out side the cafe gates on Royal street. They even had their own personal street musician performing for their first look. It wasn’t planned, but it was a really nice touch. After they made their way into the cafe there was some cocktails and hanging out before the ceremony. These two are not the traditional couple and I loved the way they went through with the ceremony. They walked together to where they were to say their vows, so there was no grand entrance which was a great twist on an old tradition. When it came time for a first dance, once again Alison and Graham opted to have an open dance floor where everyone could celebrate with them at the same time. At the end of the evening, Mardi Gras indians showed up to lead the whole party through the French Quarter, all the way to Frenchman street. This night was awesome on so many levels. We definitely made some new friends with these two!!
